A column: Sharing information and translating it in a way that will make people think and see one object in two different point of views! It all comes down to expression! In all walks of life we encounter those moments that make us think twice and do an instant "replay".  I've learned to have integrity in all I do. So here in my words of wisdom, opinions, debates and just "mere expressions". I will attempt to delight, entertain and share some of the moments we all go through!

Baking cookies with Duke:
 A Majeur Series© Posted 06/05/2011

Often we get into the kitchen and begin to prepare our meals; adding spices, cutting veggies, simmering and cooking. Soon the entire house is full of aromas that our little love ones seem to want a part of. How many times do we find ourselves saying, "No Fido its not for you". Well too many times in our household, so we dedicated a day for our loved pooches. We found a great recipe for Doggie Treats, so once a week it's their turn in the kitchen. As I prepared for this task, I invited Duke (our Boxer/Pit) along for the ride ... or should I say along for the spoon licking event.

You will need the following:

Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup nonfat dry milk powder
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cubes beef bouillon cube
  • 3/4 cup boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Lightly grease one cookie sheet.
  2. Dissolve bouillon cubes in boiling water and allow to cool.
  3. Combine the flour, dry milk, egg, oil, beef broth and brown sugar. Mix well and knead dough for 1 minute.
  4. On a floured surface roll out dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out bones and place on cookie sheet.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes and allow to cool.

Another great idea for holiday treats for your pooch. Make a batch of cookies and place them in a tin for those special celebrations, or as a welcome treat to new pooches in the neighborhood. This was a fun experience and Duke loved the entire process. He is now "ALL EARS"  when it comes to cooking doggie treats!
